These women are all dating after 40…some in their 60s and 70s. He sent her pictures of the baseball game he attended. He told her about his crappy day at work. Then they had a coffee date. It went well.

Dating used to be simple. You met a girl. You got her. You went out.
And from there it either blossomed or bombed. Then someone invented text messaging. And so was born the idea of digital etiquette or indeed the lack of it — see ghosting, benching and catfishing.
Well, a new study out of the UK has attempted to shine a light on what annoys people most when communicating with a new date via text message, the Huffington Post reports. And some of the were… enlightening.
We asked 20 women: what’s your idea of the perfect first message on a dating app?
First up, 84 percent of people surveyed said they had been put off by a message sent by someone they were dating. That should already be giving you anxiety, but things only get dicier when you look at how low level some of the transgressions are. According to the survey, the most frustrating thing someone can do early on in a relationship is reply to one question in a text text message dating that actually contains several. Unfortunately, to make matters worse, the second biggest mistake a date can make almost leans the other way — sending too many messages.
The come from a study carried out by dating website Match. It looked at everything from grammar to excessive use of emojis.
