Lindsey Clarke was doomed. Every serious boyfriend she had fell for her more beautiful cousin, Destiny. When it happened yet again on the eve of her thirtieth birthday, she was devastated and wondered if she would always be delegated to second best.
A friend suggested a blind date, and Lindsey went along with it in order to get her mind off her wounded heart. Once she met Grayson Hall, she was star struck.
Not only was he good-looking, but he was kind and sweet as well. Grayson Hall owned the largest general construction company in Los Angeles. He had everything he could possibly want except love from a good woman.
After being burned by a girlfriend who was only with him because of his money, he was determined to keep his financial status a secret from Lindsey. Following a disastrous first date, Grayson determined to make it up to Lindsey. Soon, he was falling hard and could easily see a future with her. But when a terrible lie threatened their relationship, Grayson had to prove he was the kind of man she could count on.
And Lindsey had to make a decision. Was Grayson the man he said he was? Or was he no different than the men who dumped her for her cousin?

Well, perhaps aside from one date, but I'll let you read the book to find out what that means ;- I love how this author blends together a romance story so seamlessly with Christian values and talk of faith.
It doesn't seem preachy or holier-than-thou. I can relate to it and I feel inspired when I am done with the last. Which stays with me for days because of the sweetness of the story. I enjoyed the circum The cover is dirtier than the book Here's the dirt. I enjoyed the circumstances that Lindsey and Grey found themselves facing together.
They were hilarious, embarrassing, and frustrating, yet they culminated to a beautifully written happily ever after. On a steaminess level I would rate this a hot PG. I have left a review under both entries. Merged review: The cover is dirtier than the book Here's the dirt. I've posted a review there too. Romance, clean; Christian elements Light, clean romance novella. Lindsay and Gray's story is a cute, quick fall. Mix in a bit of family and friend drama, and some hopeful relatives, and it was a cute read. They have both been hurt before and hesitant to try the date. Disastrous first date, but they both felt their connection. Cute, heartfelt read, some misunderstandings, faith elements, and hope for a much happier, romantic future made for a cute, quick read.
This was my first time reading this author, I believe, but when I saw the cover, I couldn't resist the Mike Rowe-esque quality that Grayson had and had to pick it up to read! I'm really glad I did!
Unfortunately, though I have to agree with another reviewer that mentioned that they didn't feel engrossed in the story. There seemed to be quite a bit of telling, not showing the reader what the characters were like, and that interfered with how I could connect to them.

I did feel that the characterization was well done, especially with Destiny. She was a character I really enjoyed hating! I loved the disaster that first date was!
It was over the top, but still somewhat believable! I liked how the relationship between Lindsey and Gray developed over the course of the book, it felt very natural, even with the stumbling blocks that they encountered along the way! All things considered, I'd definitely of this author's works! Jan 21, Donna rated it it was amazing. Five stars. It has everything, lost love, just the right amount of drama, humor, great characters, and a happy ever after.
But best of all it is a sweet romance between Lindsey and Grayson. They are perfect for each other.
Both are kind, loyal, trustworthy, strong, and caring. There is often trouble in paradise and they have their share.
